The Bhagavad Gita is considered to be one of the most sacred epics of Hindu mythology. The epic teaches lessons about life, philosophy, spirituality, leadership and how to achieve success in life. Gita Jayanti is the birth of Holy book Bhagavad Gita. It falls on the 11th day of Shukla Paksha also called as Ekadashi Day.
Gita Jayanti is celebrated to show respect towards teachings of Lord Krishna in Mahabharata.
Importance of Gita
The epic is not just a holy book from Hindu mythology. It teaches lessons of humanity, leadership and other qualities that can help a human being lead a successful, happy and focused life. It imparts the power of decision making among the human. It provides humans with wisdom to solve the toughest problems of life.

Gita Jayanti is celebrated with recitation of Gita and its teachings. Great scholars and leaders address people with lessons and teachings of life. Seminars, talks and discussions are being carried on the same too.
Spiritual Celebrations
Spiritually, temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna celebrate this festival with all rituals. The devotees of Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu gather at Kurushetra for holy bath at Sannihit Sarovar and Brahm Sarovar.
A literature fest is being organized at Kurushetra focusing on literature, art and teachings of life.
